Scotia Village and St. Andrews University organized a lifelong learning program in 1991 and it’s a beloved part of life at the community. SAILL (Scotland Area Institute for Lifelong Learning) offers classes at Scotia Village as well as St. Andrews. Courses are 4-6 weeks long and cover a wide variety of subjects. Some classes incorporate trips to museums or cultural venues in the region while others concentrate on one subject.
Our intergeneration quiz bowl and Dakim Brain Fitness programs offer other opportunities for learning. Our quiz bowl team plays teams from our sister communities. The brain fitness program provides residents an opportunity to maintain or build memory, cognitive skills and logic.
